Healthy Smoothie Recipes

It’s the start of the New Year, everyone is back at work, kids are back at school, and you are trying to get back on track after all of the unhealthy eating over the holidays. Your routine and schedule seem to be getting back into normal and you’re getting used to the New Year.

Some of you may have even set a New Year’s Resolution to either start eating better food, to lose a few pounds, or to stop skipping breakfast. Well, lucky for you we have put together 3 of our all-time favorite smoothie recipes that will leave you satisfied in the morning. Let’s take a look!

1.     Very Berry Breakfast:

This smoothie is jam packed with fruit and all the nutrients that you require in the morning. Ingredients Include:

  • 1 cup frozen, unsweetened raspberries
  • ¾ cup chilled, unsweetened almond milk
  • ¼ cup frozen, unsweetened, pitted cherries
  • 1 ½ Tbsp. honey
  • 2 tsp. finely grated ginger
  • 1 tsp. ground flaxseed
  • 2 tsp. fresh lemon juice

Just combine all ingredients in the blender and puree until smooth. Enjoy this very berry breakfast!

2.     Best Breakfast Smoothie:

Make this smoothie in a jiffy every morning, slurp it down on your way to work, and you will feel satisfied until lunchtime. Ingredients include:

  • 1 cup plain, nonfat yogurt
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 6 frozen strawberries

Again, combine all ingredients and blend for just 40 seconds. You may have to stop and scrap down the sides half way through.

3.     Banana Blueberry Soy Smoothie:

This smoothie is absolutely delicious if you have some fresh frozen blueberries left over in your freezer from summer time. The fruit makes this smoothie taste naturally sweet so you can skip the sugar. Ingredients Include:

  • 1 ¼ cup light soy milk
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries
  • ½ frozen banana, sliced
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Just combine these ingredients and blend for 20 to 30 seconds. If you add a fresh banana, it is suggested to add ¼ cup more milk to thicken the smoothie. Enjoy!
